It sounds (from your other post) like you got the black-faced version. You asked about the bezel. It turns both ways and in conjunction with the red 24 hour hand will keep track of the time in a second time zone. Most people, when travelling, keep the 24 hour hand set to their home time and set the "regular hands" to local time.
When at home, you might set the red hand to a second time zone that you has some importance (i.e., you do business with or have family living there).
Turning the bezel is another way to align the red hand with a different time zone without actually resetting the watch.
