Before and after...

I used a 3M SuperFine Sponge

I don't know about availibility, but I got mine from Clas Ohlson in Sweden. My guess is that any hardware store should be able to order or does stock something similar.

I polished it in one direction only and avoided "back-and-forth" movements. But remember, the SMP clasp is know to scratch easily, so it won't be long before they reappear.
