: Hi,
: visiting some jewelers and looking through the
: Omega catalogue and their website, I am a
: bit confused.
: Which one of the following is the newer model:
: the
: *2055.80* (THIS IS THE "OLD ONE")
presented on the official website
: or the
: *2255.80* with different bracelet and slightly
: modified marker on postion 3 o'clock?
THIS IS THE "NEWER" ONE. BUT THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN THE THREE O'CLOCK MARK THAT I CAN DISCERN. PLEASE DESCRIBE DIFFERENCE, AS I OWN A 2055.80. THE ONLY DIFF. IS THE CHANGE TO THE "SPEEDMASTER" STYLE BRACELET, AS FAR AS I KNOW.
: My second question is on a Seamaster I have
: never seen before, anyone who could tell me
: something about this model presented on
: ebay?
: Regards,
: Andy
THAT'S AN "OMEGAMATIC", WHICH WAS OMEGA'S ANSWER TO SEIKO'S "KINETIC". IT IS A QUARTZ-ACCURACY, MOTOR DRIVEN WATCH WITH AUTO. WINDING ROTOR THAT CHARGES A CAPACITOR (LIKE A BATTERY). THEY WERE AVAILABLE WITH BLACK OR WHITE FACE. THE IDEA IS THAT YOU CAN HAVE QUARTZ ACCURACY W/O EVER HAVING TO CHANGE THE BATTERY. AS FAR AS I KNOW, THEY WORK WELL, BUT DID NOT SELL WELL, SO THEY WERE DISCONTINUED ABOUT TWO (?) YEARS AGO.
