I own the chronograph version of the "James Bond" style SMP, which has an automatic movement.
I have owned it for over a year, and it has been brilliant!!! When I first got it it gained about 3 seconds a day (still well within COSC spec) but it has settled down over time and day gains less than 1 second a day!!
From my own personal experience, I think they are great watches. I cannot comment about servicing etc as I haven't had it serviced yet, and it shouldn't need its first service for another 3-4 years.
Hope this helps!!
