Spent some time w/ a local watch dealer here in Ann Arbor and came to the same conclusion. Thank you very much. By the way, he did say that the battery life in the quartz was only 1-3 years, versus much longer w/ other brands. I think he was looking to lead me to the Automatic, as he went on to say that battery changes on the Omega watches run $150 and up, and that the seals are never gotten right there after; can't assure they don't get dirty inside, et cetera.
I then asked what the "life" of a Seamaster was, and he said "ten years."
On your last point, John, if the powers that be at Sony and recent rumors are to be honored, it looks like the last 3 Bonds may not be Mr. Brosnan's last three. And my bet is always w/ the inside man, recalling Connery's return after "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" and all the times Moore's "last" wasn't his last.
