Hold the watch horizontal. Point the hour hand at the sun. Bisect the angle between the hour hand and the 12 mark to give a north- south line.

BTW, I used to do solo-survivalist camping back in my day and only ever used my watch and a knife for supplies. You can navigate quite aptly with just your watch and some common sense when you need to. Now that I'm older (and lazier), I have a few grand $ in camping supplies that I bring to the lake with me (always too much actually) and live life better there than at home.

But I do so miss the days of sleeping under a makeshift shelter, laying on the leaves and foliage, warmed by the fire that I made sans matches. More worried about the russling noises of suspected beasts than last weeks quarterly profits' forcast. Alas, to dream of ones' youth...

Omega! Thought I'd throw in the 'O' word so that my little diatribe wasn't too far away from the Message Boards' focus ;-)
