Two quickies in reply...
In Response To: a great debate in perspective ()

For the most part there is no major disagreement here, so I just have two quickies in reply to you Georges...

First, 7750 wobble is greatly exagerated by people, mostly newbies. As you probably remember I have probably a couple of dozen 7750's and I can't remember more than once or twice feeling anything remotely like the wobble mentioned by some people. I suspect that the 7750 is the first big chronograph and automatic watch bought by many people (my first auto chrono was a 5100 Tourneau, but that's another story), and I think that as a result some of the 7750 wobble reports we here are due to extreme hyper-sensitivity.

And on the Valjoux 72... I wouldn't necessarily go for a premium (non-Rolex) v.72 George... I paid $195 and $300 for my Certina Chronolympic v.72's and they have been fun watches. If you can find a nice condition 72 for $400-600 but it's an off brand, consider it. Wear it for a while and see how you like it. If you do, that'll tell you something, if not, sell it off. You might make a little money, or if you lose a little, you can consider it a rental for a couple of weeks use...

Take Care!
