There hast to be a happier third alternative here. Frankly, I'd hide the Bond watch away next to my Millenium Falcon and just claim that it was a Collector's Item that would lose value if anyone ever took it out of the box (then no one would know how ugly it was...) And the timex? Well, frankly, I wouldn't ever tell anyone I had a Timex. Certainly I wouldn't post pictures of it on an Omega forum.
I think I'd just go watchless until I could get a real watch and just peep at my cell phone whenever I needed to know the time. Hopefully no one is going to force me into a choice of carrying around an old Brick, or a Pink Hello Kittie cell phone. Then I don't know what I'd do...
