Re: Manual Wind Watches
In Response To: Manual Wind Watches ()

after owning my first manual watch (omega prof moonphase), a few observations:

keeps very accurate time during the first 24 hours after being fully wound, then tends to run slow, so i wind it everyday now instead of letting it go for a day and a half

problem is if i forget to wind it and the reserve runs out. if you think that you might forget to wind the watch, it might be better to go to an automatic

i do enjoy winding the watch, makes me feel more involved with its day to day functioning

having an auto speedmaster as well, i don't feel like the manual wind is any less technological, and having the see through caseback increases my appreciation for the mechanism

my next purchase, if i ever get enough funds put together, will also be a manual wind.

hope that helps.
