I don't know whether you have the watch on a leather strap or on a bracelet, but either way it isn't meant for diving or swimming. If you get caught in the rain, fine, but don't take it in the pool with you.

I guess it depends on your definition of "everyday use". For instance, I wouldn't wear it to play racquetball since a watch like this isn't designed to take severe blows against the walls or floor. It is a mechanical watch, so a severe blow could easily knock a part out of alignment.

Otherwise, as long as you don't try to use it for things it wasn't intended for (diving, extreme sports, etc.), it should serve you very well.
