: Newbie here. I helped my wife with the purchase
: of my first Omega, Seamaster 300M Titanium,
: at Christmas. I love my watch and I've
: learned a great deal by lurking here during
: the last few months.

: I have had an issue with the watch running
: slow, 7-9 seconds/day. It is my guess that
: the watch was magnetized upon receipt from
: my gray market dealer. (Sorry guys, I was
: uneducated back then.) The watch will pull a
: compass needle with ease. I attempted to
: have the watch fixed at an AD in Scottsdale,
: AZ. The watchmaker was not in that day and
: the prissy premadonna sales person had a
: minor episode when I hinted that the watch
: was magnetized. (He had zero familiarty with
: this problem. Perhaps he was a high-end
: purse guy?) He did suggest that my watch
: probably needed to be overhauled. I'm now
: looking for another AD to have the watch
: demagnetized. Shouldn’t be a big deal, there
: are at least five other AD's here in
: Phoenix.

Welcome to the forum, Steve. It sounds like you did indeed go to one of those AD's who have salespeople who need remedial training. Not all AD's are created equal.

As far as your watch goes, you are fortunate that you can tell so easily that it is magnetized and that the watch doesn't need a full servicing. Any competent watchmaker can fix your watch quickly and easily without taking the watch apart. You don't need to go to an Omega AD, since any competent local watchmaker should be able to handle this job with ease. Good luck!
