Re: Gray market Omega triple date

: I saw the retail on these at $2650 so I got it
: for 54% off. Watch is pre-owned. The only
: wear is one tiny little mark that could be
: buffed out. Had my jewler open it up and it
: is genuine Omega inside. Any warranty would
: be gone now anyway, so that is not a real
: issue. I wonder if Omega would re-stamp the
: case back for me? I spoke with a friend in
: the watch business in Chicago and he said
: that not all Omegas had the serial number
: stamped on the outside back. Is this true?
: My vintage Seamaster is only marked on the
: inside.
: TIA

Yes, many vintage models were not stamped with serial numbers. However, all recent production models have serial numbers stamped on the caseback. If that stamping was removed, there's no way Omega will re-stamp it for you, since they know you bought the watch from a gray market dealer.
