In Response To: Re: Carbontime ()

Hi Richard

All this is very interesting but the UN Nardin Freak like the Patek with the silicium escapement are watches built in small numbers due to their huge price. The co axial hasn't an enough long feedback in terms of movements produced, it was just introduced in 2000, and nearly 6 years are not enough to say that a technology is reliable. Some older rolex, omega or even iwc movements can keep time during 15 years without being serviced and being always accurate. I think it has a lot to do with the base construction of the calibre and wether it is inhouse or not. You can put all the technologies you want in a movement but if the base of the movement is not something exceptionally reliable and robust the technologies are useless. The same thing can be said if the technologies used are not provenb and tested in harsh conditions.

just my opinion

georges
