Small Collection

I'm a collector but plan on keeping a small collection of only three watches. I like classic watches with a history. I don't have enough expertise to feel confident buying vintage watches, so I've purchased modern classics.

My Omega is the "sapphire sandwich" version of the Speedy. I love its history and classic design that has changed little since it was worn on the moon. A couple of weeks ago I bought "The Moon Watch" book on eBay. I've also bid on the "Time Capsule" book but haven't been the winner of an auction yet.

My other watch is the Rolex Submariner, which I consider to be the classic diving watch. I'm a fan of the Seamasters too and have recommended them to friends because I feel they're a better for most people. I was willing to pay much more for the Submariner because I value its history.

My next watch will be a dress watch, possibly a Patek Philippe. It will be a while before I have enough money saved to make a purchase though.

I want to thank everyone who contributes to this forum. Many of you are very knowledgeable and I've learned a lot while lurking here the past few months. The only downside is that sometimes it's hard to adhere to my self-imposed limit of three watches while hanging around here!
