John is correct.
In Response To: Re: Mark on crystal? ()

Hi Lorenzo,

John is, as usual, correct.

Original hesalite ( plastic ) crystals from Omega have a little Omega symbol exactly in the middle of the crystal.

I can hardly see it without the help of a magnifying glass.

I have tried to take a picture of it.

This is the best I can manage.

If you look between the red second hand & the hour markers, ( actually just to the left of the second hand ) you'll see a tiny Omega symbol "floating in the air" (it is blurred ).

When you look at the watch directly from the front, this is exactly above the centre of the hands. It is NOT blurred in real life, I just couldn't get my camera to focus on it. :-(

The symbol is "cast" into the underside of the crystal, so no amount of scratches/polishing will remove it.

Like I say, to really see it well, you need to use a magnifying glass.

Could this be what you can see on your crystal ?

S.
