: John, I thought it was YOU that found the
: script to the movie... Therefore it's you
: that should know all of this already! :-)

Unfortunately, the website that had the script review didn't discuss Bond's watch and sidearm transitions. I don't think the script reviewer was a WIS, nor was he an expert in Bond's Walthers. That means I had to "guess" when Mr. Bond would be wearing his different Omegas.

This film is really supposed to be like a "Batman Begins" (or "Bond Begins" in this case), with us seeing Bond begin his career as a "00" agent. However, it takes place in the present day. I think it would be strange to see Bond wearing the SMP 2531.80 if that model is discontinued by the time the film comes out.

I know for a fact that Bond's specific Walther PPK hasn't been manufactured since the German factory stopped production in 1999, so it shouldn't be in a film set in the present day. Likewise, if the SMP 2531.80 is to be replaced by a co-axial version, then why use the 2531.80 in the film? Maybe the poster is just for marketing purposes and doesn't reflect what we'll actually see in the film. Time will tell...(pun intended).
