I know of 2 possibilities.
69 speedies came in this box ( as mentioned in Chucks Speedmaster History page read the 145.022 entry for 1969 )
I have an original 1969 speedmaster MK II that came like this
I believe this box was available for a while since it is still featured in the 1975 UK Catalogue
I'm afraid I can't state with 100% certainty what was used before 1969. ( Definately NOT the "moon" box - it was first used in 1969 )
