Seamaster Bezel

Hi everyone,

I had my girlfriend ask me an intersting question about my Seamaster and was wondering if anyone here has an answer (or hypothesis).

Why does the bezel on the SMP have lines for the markings for 0-15min with no 10 marking and dots for >15 and markings at 10,20,30....

Just a question of curiousity :)
