True, but I think in most cases these watches are sold to incredible roobs (or n00bs a Georges would say...) who actually think they are getting the real thing for a deep discount. I didn't see any actual sales taking place that I could eavesdrop on, but these particular fakes are simply various random watch faces with Rolex, Omega, IWC, and other brand names on them. If you ask one of these people for a Seamaster Chrono or a Speedmaster day/date, you would just get a blank look, because they don't know diddly about the watches at all.
This is quite a separate market from "real fakes" (for about $200 each) where you CAN buy a copy of a Corum Admiral's watch with all the dials faithfully reproduced, even though the tide indicators are just painted on the subdial and don't actually move. In this case I think the people actually know what they are getting, and if you're going to wear a quartz Timex movement, why not have it look like a Rolex?? If you work at Burger King, I doubt the young girls you are trying to attract will know the difference.
