Tracking space watch

Omega watches launched ‘Speedmaster’, it’s Nasa collection at a crowded mall recently.
Shopping freaks at Garuda Mall were in for a surprise with the kind of setup arranged for the launch of Omega's 'Speedmaster Missions - Moon to Mars' limited watch edition.
The central space at the mall was adorned with robots and space vehicles to give the feel of space for launching 'Speedmaster'. G Kannan, country manager, Swatch Group India, unleashed the fascinating space odyssey that was the centre of attraction at the mall.
Also on display were replicas of 22 Omega watches, which were worn by NASA astronauts during all their space explorations.
Each watch, which was taken to space was decorated with a logo of the NASA mission of which it was part of. A symbol was designed for each space mission also indicating every time the watches were upgraded.
A brief note on each watch’s space exploration was displayed for public information.
This special-edition ‘Speedmaster’ bears all the hallmarks of the original ‘Moon Watch’, which was worn during the moon exploration, with the same robust case, functional bezel with tachometer scale and sober matt black dial with luminous baton hands.
It also shares the hand-wound calibre 1861 that is legendary among mechanical watch enthusiasts for its precision and reliability.
Priced at Rs 1,08,000, a piece, this numbered edition is available at Zimson Swiss Watch Boutique at Garuda Mall.
