Guys,
Ive been dealing with accuracy issues with my SMP for awhile and I need some advice to see if I really need to push this issue or leave be.
First , a little background to feel you in on whats been happening .
Well I own a 5-year old SMP (cal 1120, 2531.80)Bond. As far as I can recall she ran perfectly or about +1.5sec/24 all the way until last October(2006). Now, I have never really taken a super-precise measurement over a longer period of time(lets say over a one months period)but Im quite sure that it stayed around the values given above.
From around mid-October 2006 until around mid January 20007, she was off my wrist and in the watch box. When I picked her back up and started to wear it daily as previously (pre Oct 2006) she would loose up 15-20sec. per day! So I took her to my local CERTIFIED Omega watchmaker for a complete service or overhaul as some may call it.
Right after the service(assuming it was done right) I was STILL having issues with it running late(it varied but it would loose up to 7sec/24). So after about 3 visits back to that watchmaker, he got it to run about -2sec/24.
Last month, once again it started running around -4 or -5sec/24. So once again I went back and got adjusted so right now its running roughly -2.5/24.
It is important to mention that my wearing habits HAVE NOT changed lately so I would hardly contribute this behavior to that.
Hence my questions:
1) After an complete overhaul (assuming of course, that it was honestly done)should I expect it to run without great deviation for the next 4-5 years or would it require occasional adjustment?
2) If it continues to loose time(gets beyond -4/24 or the COSC specs)does it mean that there is something wrong and the guy did not do the overhaul properly?
3) What should be my course of action?
