Re: Diamond dial Constellation *LINK*
In Response To: Diamond dial Constellation ()

There were some diamond dialled connies as well as some diamond bezelled Connies in the 60s. One diamond bezel model had the case number 168.7190 (Omega Legend p 371)

There were some that were made as 'jewelry' watches but Ive never been able to determine if they were orders, pre-market short runs or specials for some Asian countries.

Most of these dials I believe had the diamonds added as ornament after market. Although a Thai Connie collector has one that he says was done by the Thai importer pre-market.

I'd communicate with someone at the Omega museum via the Omega website before taking the plunge though.

Cheers

: I am contemplating the purchase of a 1962
: vintage Constellation with a diamond dial.
: It has baguettes at the 12, 3, 6, and 9
: position, and a small round diamond at each
: of the other positions. Does anyone know if
: this could be a factory dial, or is it an
: aftermarket upgrade? The piepan dial appears
: original, but I can't find any info on the
: diamonds. Thanks
