I wholly agree that the lack of "truth in advertising" of the new owners is appalling. Unfortunately, I can think of many worse examples.
On the other hand, I can understand the desire of the new owner (of what was likely a financially troubled company purchased in pieces) to trade on a perceived continous history while wanting to leave the "sins of the past" behind. If I were to purchase an online business, I would purchase the right to use the website name and logos and leave the rest of the corporate entity far behind.
Arguing by analogy, assume that US automaker General Motors ("GM") fails and files bankruptcy and is unable to be reorganized and is sold in pieces. One of the assets which will be purchased out of bankruptcy is the right to use the GM name and associated brand names. One of the liabilities that a new operator will attempt to leave behind is warranty claims. Purchase what has value and leave behind that which is not . . .
Sorry this doesn't help you, but try to go to an Omega authorized dealer and see if they will assist you
