The Beauty and Symmetry of the Dial on
the " Moon to Mars " model. I took off my Tutima military commando II this morning and wound up my "Moon to Mars'. This is a dial loaded with color contrasts, the earth as the big, blue marble, with the moon cold and grey, while the planet Mars fired up the imagination of 'red'. It was on Christmas Eve 1968 that the Apollo 8 crew captured one of the most famous of all NASA's photo shots. First in black and white, as the earth began too move out of the moon's shadow, then hurriedly loaded color film and captured half of the big, blue marble coming out of the moon's shadow. I feel fortunate to know one of those three men. He shot the original black and white photo.
Next time you're at an AD and they have a "Moon to Mars" model take a look at the dial. See what you think.
