As a new member, I'm thrilled to join such a prestigious on-site forum.
I purchased a Seamaster Chronograph 9 or so years ago, but have not worn this watch for the past several years.
Problem: I sent my watch in for a service after a year of purchase from Michelle Jewellers in Johannesburg and after receiving it back (Michelle Jewellers sent it to Omega's official service centre) noticed the screw did not 'screw-down' properly after changing the date. \I returned thewatch to the Jeweller who assured me that he had 'fixed' the problem. I also noticed that the hands only kept time (or moved) for about 9 - 11 hours and then stopped (this is a continual problem).
The crown again failed to screw-down after the setting was changed, and now since the Jeweller has 'gone out of business' and after contacting Omega themselves was informed that a new certified jeweller had been appointed and that I could service the watch through them. This is all very well - but, as this problem is not due to wear and tear nor to abuse, but to Jeweller failure and misrepresentation of excellence, I feel agrieved that Omega did not take on the responsibility to service the watch albeit through their newly appointed jeweller services.
