: movement. This was the favorite chronograph movement of Chuck
: Maddox. For those of you who read with interest his very
: informative articles, Chuck spelled out why he preferred the
: Lemania 5100 chronograph movement over the Valjoux 77xx. Like
: Chuck I also prefer the L 5100. Currently you can only find the
: L. 5100 in several models by Tutima. They have held the
: government contract to supply Air Force military chronographs to
: the German AF since 1985. About a dozen big name firms competed,
: and like with Omega's Moonwatch with NASA, the watches were
: subjected to very severe testing requirements by the German
: military. Why am I writing this. Simple, I'm waiting on UPS to
: deliver my fourth Tutima model with the L. 5100.
I own and have owned several prime watches my favourite of all time is still my Speedmaster 176.0012 mk 4.5.
I love the way it sits on the wrist, the dial is so ledgible and the aircraft "tipped" minute hand is a gem to watch.I love the fact that the watch has four hands from it's pinion. In my view had the technology been there in the mid '60's it would have been the aironautical choice for the moonwatch.
