Its not too much for service + parts
In Response To: Seamaster servicing costs ()

: Complete service C$425 (about US$336)
: New bezel C$287 (about US$227)
: New handset C$52 (about US$41)
:

: Do these prices seem reasonable? I was looking forward to having an
: as-new look again but the bezel replacement seems a bit steep
: considering in another 6 years, it'll look the same.

New bezel from ofrie.com is listed at $212+shipping, so around $222 or so. So, yes the price for the bezel is in line with aftermarket price. The new hands baffle me?? How the hell do hands get scratched other than from service. I would balk at this one since they were the only ones to service the watch. New hands are about that price aftermarket too, so the cost is fair. Did you notice that the hands were scratched? If not, I would just keep the old ones.

Doesn't sound like you are getting hosed especially for a LE like that. Best to let Omega handle that one. If it was regular edition, I would try to find a competent watchmaker, might cut the service cost to about the $150 mark. So basically, you would probably save only about $150 +/- from an independent. With a le like that, best to let Omega service it.

Next time you decide to send it in for service, take high resolution pics of every inch of it and send them with the watch so they know what kind of condition it was in before, ie no toolmarks, scratched hands, etc. On the hands, its your word against theirs without evidence.
