Thanks Jim,
I have written to the store and asked them to provide me with details of where the watch is being repaired so I can challenge them directly, if it is a case of the store trying it on, which I would not be surprised about as the guy told me that they have to pay for carriage of the watch, that should sort it out.
Otherwise I shall not be letting this go, I am furious, I KNOW there is no way that any sort of accidental damage can be the problem.
