: Hey Andrew, lets ask Jim what he paid for his............Oh
: Jimmy????.................David
Jimmy paid more than that......................much more. I'm not trying to justify anything, well, not really,
but the watch was worth it to me. I knew the seller and knew the watch. I had handled the Grail, worn it
and was aware of what a fine piece it was(is). Here is how I feel about that: My 376.0822 is probably the finest
example that exists. Its a near perfect specimen and is in 99% condition. Its a watch that I've wanted for years and I was willing to pay a premium to get it. It was a painful price in a market where watch prices were plummeting
and if I had waited, I probably could have gotten a much better price on a watch that I was not familiar with.
I don't feel bad about what I paid although it would be nice to have some of that cash in my pocket about now,
but I digress, I would do it again and again. Most have never seen the Grail in the metal. In my opinion, its the
finest Speedmaster ever made, its rare and they aren't making any more of them either. I'll stick with what I
bought and feel a little bad about it, but I got exactly what I wanted, from a seller I trusted in the condition
that I felt good about. I know my brother is sorta ragging me about it, but I would do it all over again.
It was a flawless deal that left my blood pressure normal with a seller that is a friend and as trustworthy
as the rest of you guys. Thats got to be worth something.
On the other hand, now I feel better. I talked myself into thinking it was a good deal. For all I know that watch
may blow up in my hand tomorrow.
Chuck Maddox, bless his soul, would be cussing me if he found out what I paid. Besides, I'm not as smart as Chuck was.
Thanks David.
