First of all, it sounds like you have gotten in a little over
: your head on this one. I would take it to a local competent
: watchmaker as it probably needs a service and not just a simple
: regulation. Recommended service intervals are about 5 years, so
: if its been longer than that, don't mess with it, just bring it
: in before you do any more damage to it. This is even more
: important if the watch is a vintage watch as there may be
: lubrication issues and significant wear causing the regulation
: problem. This cannot be corrected by just moving the lever +/-.
: If you don't heed this advice then Im sure you can find a stem and
: a crown from Ofrei.com or Jules Borel. Both are watch supply
: companies with a large Omega inventory. You will need the case #
: and the caliber # to order these items. The case number is
: stamped on the inside of the caseback and the caliber is stamped
: on the movement.
Mike, what a lovely chap you are, that's solid advice and I may take you up on it. I will try and find those retail mechants and give it a go first of all. Of course I might just fail miserably. Thanks again!
: Good luck with it.
