authorized dealers-local vs. mail order

Hello, I'm new to the forum, and in the short time I've been reading, have gained an enormous amount of information - thanks.

I want to buy a new seamaster automatic 300m chrono diver model 2599.80.00 (before they disappear). Does anyone know the u.s. retail price?

I've read here that any authorized dealer should discount at least 20% off this price. What is the best way to deal with a salesperson? I hate the whole haggling scene like at a car dealership. Regarding a watch, it seems that one may not have much to bargain with aside from threatening to go elsewhere. I mean you can't exactly say "throw in the floor mats, put on mud flaps and I'll take it."

On the other hand, mail order dealers offer up to a 38% no-haggle discount and free shipping. It appears that the folks here who have used the mail order dealer (from Mr. Szeto) are very happy with the service. Is there any reason one shouldn't order a watch this way?

Thank you very much in advance for your input.
