Steve, I have not seen a limited either, but my first guess would be that it is one like the 1/100sec chrono from Soul Olympics

There is no pictures of an limited from 1988 in my seamaster book, but from 92 (Albertville), there is pictures of both a limited collectors version, and a sponsors version
