the good news is that the server is back up, and with it, this discussion forum.

the bad news is that, for the moment, we have lost our old posts.

the good news is that they can restore the old messages, later tonight.

the bad news is that when they do this restoration, we will lose the messages posted between now when this restoration occurs.

so enjoy the forum . . . chat if you like . . . but, for now, please don't post anything that you would be disappointed to lose.

thanks,

Jeff

The Better News: Steve Waddington, Co-Moderator over at our Sister forum Chronocentric started poking around the back end of the forum and thought up a way that we might be able to get the forums back on line ourselves, and not depend on the Server firm...

The Best News: Jeff Stein, decided to use ChronoTrader ( I would have chosen Counterfeit Watcher myself, but eh...) as a Guinea Pig and successfully restored all four of our Discussion Forums...

The Downside: It looks like we might have lost anywhere from a half a day to a day and an half of posts.

The Upside: The board was down for nearly a day of that time interval, it's a small price to pay considering...

As far as we can tell, we're otherwise back up and at 100% full strength! There is only one place where you can have quality discussions on Heuer's, TAG-Heuer's and Omega's with archived posts going back to each forum's inception (1999 for Omega, 2003 for Heuer) and also has a well functioning feature laden Search facility. That's Chronocentric and OnTheDash!

We may be small, but like Radiator Springs... We're a great place to be!

A tip of my cap to Steve (who along with his Co-Moderator Keith Downing) are the best moderators we could ask to have over at Chronocentric, and to Jeff, for taking care of both of these sites, and hence, us! It's an privilege working with such talent.

Good Hunting and let's start postin'!

=)
