Original or Replacement? Vintage Seamaster Quartz *PIC*

Hi All

Being a victim of the Omega acquisition syndrome, I've gone on a pursuit to acquire more Omegas (new & vintage) by disposing off my other watches. More often than not, i've ended up getting vintage pieces at decent prices.

One of my recent acquisitions is an early Seamaster quartz (Mariner) produced between 1976 & 1981. Whilst it's a beautiful piece that I enjoy in decent condition for a 30 yr old, there's one issue that's gotten me curious.

If you look at the crown, you can see that there's a gap between the crown & the recess in which it sits. Is this normal for this style of case? My other omegas (connie & seamaster AT) have different case designs so I can't make a reasonable assessment.

I've been scouring the internet but could not get a good picture for comparison. I'm sure the crown is original BUT is it the correct crown for this model? The seller told me he got is NOS & never changed it.

Appreciate your response & inputs.

Thanks
Sammy
