Problems With Reading the Time

I don't know if I'm the only one that has this problem but: often when I look to my SMPC-Ti for the time, I get lost in the hypnotic beauty of the watch. And then by the time I can break away my stare I realize I didn't even look to see what time it was in the first place. I've had this watch for over a decade now and I've taken it in for two service calls for cleanings etc; so far the problem persists.

I've always sent it to an authorized dealer for servicing, but never to Switzerland. Should I send it out there to get this problem resolved, or is this just a failing with the manufacturer? It's really too bad bacause it really is a gorgeous watch. If only I could read the time on it, it would be perfect.

Let me know if you've encountered these problems too, or how to fix it.
