Hi AEM,
IMO the SM GMT on leather strap is a different watch, nicer looking and more comfortable. Before shifting to leather, I was concerned about its low resistance to water, sweat and humidity. When I knew about the waterproof DiModell Rallye Racing I made up my mind and so far I'm very happy. In fact, my SM GMT wrist time more than doubled after I switched.
