Re: Thanks!...
In Response To: I had one. ()

Steve,

Thanks for the advice! I need to read your tutorial and learn how to post pic's so I can show you what a well WABI'ed speedy I have taken possession of, complete with a frankenwatch, jagged Rolex end link on the bracelet to replace the original that broke off during the Reagan administration! It's a beauty! I am torn about fixing it up some or leaving it just as it is.

: Hi Jimmy, I HAD a speedmaster reduced ( or
: automatic ). Mine was the yellow dialed
: Schumacher model.

: I sold it because I thought it looked to small
: on my wrist for my tastes.

: Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of my pro
: & reduced next to each other.

: The main external difference is the positioning
: of the seconds sub-dial. ON the pro it is at
: 09:00 & on the automatic it is at 03:00.

: Chuck has a small webpage comparing the 2
: watches this may give some more Info.

: All I can suggest is that you get your dad to
: an AD & get him to try one on. That
: really is the only way to know if the size
: is an issue for you.

: If you can live with the smaller case, I'd say
: the automatic is a GREAT ( & cheaper )
: alternative to a normal Pro.

: BTW congratulations on your "New"
: Speedmaster... We want pics !!

: All the Best

: Steve
