Re: Crystal Scratches
In Response To: Crystal Scratches ()

Joey,
I sometimes use ceriumoxid mixed with a few droplets of water ; it a white powder used to remove scratches in real glass / windows.
The anti-scratch paste for mobile phone glasses helps as well.
My experience : make sure your crystal remains "wet" when using a slow speed polishing machine. The heat will cause more trouble than benefit ( either melt down or complteley breaks the glass)

kindest regards,
Bert

: Hello everyone,

: It is a well known fact that untreated
: plastic/glass crystals scratch fairly
: easily. My question is (and maybe Speedy
: owners could inform me better on this) is
: how to get rid of these scratches by doing
: it yourself. Does toothpaste work, or is
: that a definate no, no?

: (Thanks to Steve) I know that Mason Allerby
: wrote a tutorial on how to buff scratches
: from a bracelet, but wouldn't it be nice to
: see this done with a crystal?

: Thanks
