Re: World of Watches - SN Removed?? - Another PIC

The watches from World of Watches are indeed real watches, they are not fakes. The reason they are able to sell the watches for what seems like 1/2 the price you would have to pay at a retail store is due to the fact that they recieve their watches from an authorized dealer, in bulk, for cost. Say I own a full-blown retail store and I want to sell Rolex as a brand, the requirements to sell Rolex are quite diffecult to obtain. They may require that I have to purchase $500,000 worth of Rolex to open an account. If me as the store owner could not afford the $500,000 (cost) buy-in I would purchase them on credit then immediately sell off say maybe half of them ($250,000 @ cost) to someone who is willing to buy $250,000 worth of Rolex (@cost) at any given moment. That "person" would be World of Watches. In the agreement I tell World of Watches that they must polish off the serial numbers so that they could never be traced to what we are doing. Is it against Rolex policy? You bet it is! Point is, that me was the retail owner can only afford $250,000 worth of Rolex yet as far as Rolex is concerned I am still legal with them and purchasing the ammount I am required to. This is how the grey market usually works, however there are a few other ways for them to get them, but if you think that World of Watches has an account with Omega or Rolex then you are wrong. Hope this clears up everything. -Steve
