Rookie: Here's an opinion from somebody knowlegable on this exact subject:

I have the titanium version of this watch, and for me it was worked flawlessly under substantial abuse shooting large handguns, and sailing under windy conditions. (It gets knocked into the mast and winches on a regular basis).

I'm not sure about getting a watch across the Canadian border, and maybe someone in here knows whether our AD in DC can do that or not. For your reference, that AD, which a lot of people use offers about a 30% discount. Probably not cost effective to fly down to DC, but if you ever go that way anyway it would be worth your while to check into it.
