Re: Steel Bracelet vs. Rubber Strap

: I am just wondering if anyone could tell me
: about the durability of the steel bracelet
: and the rubber strap on the Planet Ocean.

: If I were to wear the watch every day, how long
: would they last?

: Also, if I were to get an orange rubber strap
: for the Planet Ocean, would it stain and
: lose its color like a leather strap?

: Any help would be great. Thanks.

The steel bracelet could very easily last the life of the watch if properly cared for (not allowed to corrode, etc.). Also, it's always cheaper to buy the watch on the bracelet and then buy a strap later than it is to do it the other way around.

Omega's rubber straps are far better quality than the "el-cheapo" ones you'd find on drugstore watches, but they will still wear out eventually from heat, sweat, and normal wear. They can also eventually fade if exposed to sunlight for extended periods of time. Even though rubber is more stain resistant than leather, eventually I suspect you will see some staining on the inside of an orange strap from perspiration, just like you would from leather.
