Gelber & Mundy Received a Last Omega Shipment...

Well, this came as a total shock to me. I hadn't spoken to Gelber & Mundy (my former AD that lost their AD status) in a while. When I spoke to them a few minutes ago they told me that Omega had sent them a final shipment of watches about a month or so ago. This was the order that never arrived when their AD status had been revoked. Apparently, because they paid for the entire order in advance, Omega decided to send them that last shipment anyway.

Gelber & Mundy are hoping to clear out their Omega inventory by Christmas, so they will offer their old discount of 33% as a minimum on any watch in stock. They will offer higher discounts on some of the less popular models. Every watch will come with the full factory warranty, as Omega made it abundantly clear that they are obligated to honor it.

I asked Gelber & Mundy to send me an inventory list, which they said they would do later today. If anyone would like this list and their contact info, just send me an e-mail at jwrochowicz AT cfl.rr.com and I will reply as soon as I receive the inventory list.

I'm dumbfounded by Omega's actions, but I guess I shouldn't be. Apparently it's okay to revoke Gelber & Mundy's AD status, but it's not okay to refund their money. Still, Gelber & Mundy love the Omega product line, so they decided to keep the order and sell it rather than ship it back.
