Re: Accuracy of Mechanical Watches

My Bond SMP has been tweaked twice by an excellent AD watchmaker and each time after a short break in it has either not gained or lost time for weeks on end or it has only lost 1 second, 2 seconds max per day. Right now it's losing between 1 and 2 seconds or none at all depending on wearing conditions. I wear it every day. It was first overhauled after the first year because it suddenly decided to start gaining 45+ or better seconds daily. Probably due to rough handling on my part. For 3 months after the overhaul it ran right on the money 0 sec +/- until I dropped it accidentally on a tiled concrete floor. Then it started running 2 to 4 seconds slow per day for 9 months after that and then I had the speed bumped up to 0 seconds again. Two months later she's still running beautifully. Best watch I've ever owned!
