Don't know about the “expert” tag, but ...

Help needed from Lemania 5100 experts!

Don't know about the “expert” part, but I have quite a bit of experience.

Hello!

I got a new Tutima running on the Lemania 5100 movement. I noticed something about the crown system:

As we know, the L5100 got 3 crown position, position 1 is the winding, position 2 for quickset day/date, position 3 for time adjust.

When the crown is at position 3, I can't get it to position 2 even with the most controlled gentle push, it goes straight back to position 1.

As an owner of many many 5100's, both ancient and recent manufacture, I can tell you this is not an unheard of situation. I don't know how common it is, but it's not terribly uncommon, particularly on older examples, but sometimes even with fairly fresh examples.

In other words, the only way to access position 2 is from position 1.

I find it odd because from my previous experience with two L5100 watches, a Sinn 142 and my ex-Fortis chrono, I could always go from 3 to 2.

Is this a concern?

It's never bothered me much.

Why on some watches I could go from 3 to 2 and on another I need to go from 3 to 1 to 2?

I'm a Chronograph Driver, not a Chronograph Doctor or Chronograph Mechanic, so I don't know the specific cause, but it most likely is an adjustment that can be made.

Would someone knowledgeable explain please?

I'd recommend contacting Tutima and seeing what they advise. My experiences in contacting Tutima have been exceedingly pleasant, they are a firm, while small, "get it", when it comes to customer service, and I am confident they will assist you properly.

Thanx in advance.

Best of fortune and congratulations on the Tutima! What model do you have? I have a Nato in Titanium...
