Re: Aeromarine Colt Vs Seamaster
In Response To: Aeromarine Colt Vs Seamaster ()

Tyler,
I have a 10 year old Breitling Colt Quartz, which i bought new, and my buddy has the Omega Seamaster quartz, about 5 years old now. There's little to chose between them in the quartz market in my opinion. I admire them both! To me, the Seamaster is a bit more legible and has changed less over time than the Colt -- mine has a more simple dial than the most recent iteration. We've worn them snorkeling, mountain bike riding, go kart racing, hiking in crappy weather and more, with no issues. They've stood the test and are comfortable high quality pieces, with durable bracelets (we both have steel), and very nice unidirectional bezels, which have remained precise over the years of use with no slop to speak of. My colt seems to have a longer battery life. I also think the raised tabs on the Colt tend to catch more on clothes than the Omega, so i might opt for it for that reason. -- Since it's such a personal decision, why don't you try them both on and see how each feels to you. Happy hunting, and let us know what you go with.

: Hey Omega Ladies & Gents (although probably
: more of the later)... Tyler here.

: A few weeks back, I posted a couple of
: questions regarding the toughest Omega
: watch, and received some very helpful
: information regarding water resistance,
: shock resistance, and potential movements...
: needless to say, the Omega Seamaster Quartz
: looks pretty appealing on all fronts.

: Now that I know what Omega model might work
: best, I thought to compare it to some other
: models. The toughest competition would be
: from the Breitling Aeromarine Colt (Quartz
: of course).

: Given that both models are quite similar, can
: anyone offer any advice beyond which model I
: "like" more? Does either watch
: have reliability issues that I should be
: aware of?

: Any information would be great... especially if
: you have any experience with Breitling
: watches.

: Take 'er easy...
