Re: planet ocean 2900.51.82 vs. 2901.51.82???

: does anybody know how to tell the difference
: between the planet ocean 2900.51.82 vs.
: 2901.51.82 besides the size.
: (i don't want to have to bring a ruler and
: measure the watch, or get the wrong
: pictogram card etc...) i'd like to know if
: there are any different marks on the 44mm
: watch than the 42mm. because, i can't really
: tell which is which and i'm buying one from
: an AD but, i don't want the wrong watch. i
: ask this because i've already had other
: issues w/my AD??? anyone know how to tell
: the difference??? thanks!

Trust me, as long as your AD has both sizes in stock (even if one is on a bracelet and one is on a strap), it is VERY easy to see which one is larger. The 2900 is the 45.5mm model, while the 2901 is the 42mm model. If you go in and see only one watch in the case, there are two ways you can tell them apart without having to do any measuring. If the watch is the smaller 42mm model, the date window will be closer to the 3 o'clock luminous hour marker. Also, the teeth on the bezel will be very close together (they will be spread out more on the 45.5mm version). Take a look at the links Hewybaby provided and study the pictures carefully if you need to so you can see what I'm saying.

Another way to tell is by comparing the watch to any full size Seamaster. These watches are 41mm, so they are basically identical in size to the 42mm PO. If the watch is substantially larger than a full size Seamaster, you know you're looking at the 45.5mm model.

Good luck,
John
