Have had my SMP for 5 years now. There is only a minor blemish on the painted surface of it. Other than that, its pristine and was a daily wearer for nearly 3 years. A few dings on the outer edge of the bezel itself, but those come from door bangs, etc. that would dent or scratch any stainless steel. I believe the bezel is made of two parts, the stainless bezel(assuming the watch is stainless), and the "painted" surface which is a powder coated aluminum insert.

Good thing about Omega is that the SMP bezels are readily available on ofrie.com for about $200 should you scratch the heck out of it.
