Re: Seamaster Co-Axial Loses 5 minutes

: First off, make sure its fully wound. If this
: is not the problem then a trip to Omega
: seems to be in order. Bienne is probably the
: best place to send it as the NJ service
: center seems to have a bad rap. I believe
: there is also a service center in Florida
: somewhere that you could try. Mixed reveiws
: on that one.

Actually, I just sent my SMP 2254.50 in to NJ after it (seemingly overnight) started running at +5 minuts/day. Yes, that's minutes. My dealer, who also resides in the NE mentioned NJ as an option.

After approx. three weeks, I received a letter back indicating that they received the watch and it will need a "complete overhaul" at no charge. After another three weeks, I received the watch back. It was completely re-done; movement repaired and re-calibrated to +2-sec/day, new crystal, (I don't know why they replaced it, but this one has a nice AR coating), new gaskets, completely pressure tested, and every scratch taken out of the band, case and bezel. The watch looks every bit 100% new.

All I can say is whether some folks were unlucky or I was extremely lucky, Omega in NJ did a great job!
