Actually Cernan's Speedy was/is Sans Bezel...
In Response To: LOL .. ()

: Surely the is first thing to check was if any
: Speedmaster lost its bezel during the Apollo
: 17 mission. If not, I think that would prove
: that the picture & sound do not belong
: together.

Actually, Gene Cernan's Speedmaster which WAS worn on Apollo 17 was/is sans bezel:

In fact, Steve, you've seen that watch in person at the Omega Museum...

Your picture I believe...

In the Middle, Museum # 3043

The Speedmaster of Cernan, the last watch to be worn on the Moon:

Loaned by its owner to the OMEGA Museum on April 30, 1999, this Speedmaster produced December 6, 1965 was worn by Captain Eugene Cernan during the missions:·

Gemini 9 (June 3-6, 1966), during which Cernan became the first "space walker" and made a complete orbit around the Earth;
Apollo 10 (May 18-26, 1969), 3rd lunar orbit mission and 1st orbit flight for the LEM, which he piloted;
·Apollo 17 (December 7-19, 1972), last lunar mission, which he commanded. Calibre 321. Case engraved CF55033 S/N 28 on the side and Speedmaster with seahorse on the back. Missing are the tachometric bezel and the hour totalizer hand. (ST 105.003)

However, Gene's "Sans-Bezel" Speedmaster is clearly a pre-pro, plain lug, no crown guard c.321 most likely a 105.003.
