: In one of the articles in the Omega zone it
: says in order to find out about your watch
: go to the omega site and click customer
: service, then click value of watch. But
: there is no v o w option. So what are they
: talking about?

Those pages were created by Chronocentric founder Derek Ziglar. Derek committed suicide nearly three years ago and those pages have not been updated since then. Omega however, has updated their pages and the page Derek wrote is now out of date.

We've toyed with the idea of roping off most of Chronocentric's page content as an electronic memorial for Derek while updating the pages as appropriate on an adjacent site, but we are no where near anything more than the "thinking out loud" stage of that.

I'm sorry for the confusion, but unfortunately, Derek didn't involve us in his future plans [or lack thereof] back then, and we've been more focused on keeping the forum portion of the entire enterprise afloat than those pages.

: I want to know how to check
: the value, and authenticity of a Omega watch
: by using the serial #. But i dont think you
: can do that!

The problem is that Omega Vintage Information and Omega Customer Service no longer offers a "send us your Serial Number and We'll tell you about your watch" unless the watch is 1970 or older these days.

About the only way to assure the authenticity of an Omega of recent manufacture these days is to purchase from an Authorized Dealer, which is one of the reasons why many of us recommend that purchase route when people ask our advice. You can still send your information to Omega Customer Service, just don't expect a huge amount of effort in reply.
